At a time of crisis, an intervention may be the only thing significant enough to penetrate the system of denial.
A reality confrontation, intervention attempts to reach an addictive person in a non-judgmental and caring way. It is natural to feel reluctant, even skeptical, about interfering; but choosing to wait for someone to”hit bottom” before offering them help is an archaic notion. In fact, the disease is very much a matter of life or death.
No matter your perspective, the sense of isolation that develops from living with addiction can be an overwhelming obstacle when faced alone. So I encourage exploring further.
